Who We Are What We Believe

God is Still Speaking... to you!

YOU ARE MY WITNESSES, SAYS GOD, AND  MY SERVANT WHOM I HAVE CHOSEN -ISAIAH 43:10

As people of faith and followers of Jesus, we are called to witness. We are called to share with others our faith in God, our experience of God's Spirit, and the community of welcome in Jesus Christ. God is Still Speaking through the passionate disciples and members of the United Church of Christ, today.
God can speak through you and me!

You may be thinking, "Me ? a witness?"
Yes, no matter where you are in your life's journey, you have something to share about how God is at work, still speaking, still welcoming in your life.
But, too often we don't speak because we are afraid.
Afraid that we don't know what to say
Afraid that we will be seen as "pushy"
Afraid that we and our faith will be rejected
Unfortunately, our fears keep us from discovering the joy and blessings of sharing the Still Speaking God with others who often are looking and searching for just the insights, hope, and strength that we know. We also miss the opportunity to discover the Still Speaking God at work in the lives and witness of those with whom we talk.

You might think that people don't want to talk about faith or spirituality, but many people today are eager to do so, especially young people. You might also be afraid of finding someone with very different faith or opinions. More than often, however, you will find that people want to talk and that the person you are talking with will have a similar experience, question, or hope as you do.
Remember that our faith sharing witness with others is a conversation and dialogue.

Perhaps you would like to share your faith with others, but you just don't know how. Here are some suggestions for practicing the sharing of your faith in the Still Speaking God. First, begin by asking yourself these questions:

What is my experience of the Still Speaking God? How is God still
               speaking in my life?

What difference has knowing Jesus Christ made in my life that I
               want to share with others?

What scripture has spoken to me that I think would speak to
                 others as well?

Speak your answers to yourself. Say them out loud. You may want to keep a journal and write what the Still Speaking God is saying to you each day.
