As people
of faith and followers of
Jesus, we are called to witness. We are called to share with
others our faith in God, our experience of God's Spirit, and the
community of welcome in Jesus Christ. God is Still Speaking
through the passionate disciples and members of the United Church of
Christ, today.
God can speak through you and me!
You may be thinking, "Me a witness?"
Yes, no matter where you are in your life's journey, you have something
to share about how God is at work, still speaking, still welcoming in
your life. But, too often we don't speak because we are afraid -
of knowing what to say, of being seen as being "pushy," or that our
faith will be rejected.
Unfortunately, our fears keep us from discovering the joy and blessings
of sharing the Still Speaking God with others who often are looking and
searching for just the insights, hope, and strength that we know. We
also miss the opportunity to discover the Still Speaking God at work in
the lives and witness of those with whom we talk.
More than often, however, you will find that
people want to talk and that the person you are talking with will have a
similar experience, question, or hope as you do.
